Dr. Polly Reese loves treating children. She has found that having fun and making your child comfortable is a winning combination. In fact, as soon as your child’s first tooth comes in, we invite you to bring them along to one of your regular check-ups. Our goal during this visit is to familiarize them with the examination room and dental equipment while we clean your teeth.
What is a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric dentist specializes in the treatment of a child’s teeth, gums, and mouth throughout their childhood and into their teenage years. In addition to the completion of four years of dental school, two additional years of training must be completed to be considered a pediatric dentist.
Although Dr. Reese’s training and experience is more than sufficient to meet the dental needs of most children, she is licensed as a general dentist, not a pediatric dentist. If she ever encounters a clinical situation that requires the expertise of a dentist that specializes in pediatrics, Dr. Reese will make a local referral for your child.
Going to the Dentist Can be Fun!
Your child will be put at ease as soon as they walk in the door because we have designated a special kids section of the waiting room to play in. The fun doesn’t stop there. Kiddos love their first chair ride, wearing heart-shaped sunglasses, and getting to watch their favorite cartoons on our iPad. Our staff has perfected the art of smiley-face balloons too. At the end of the visit, your child can pick out a toy from the treasure chest. Parents always tell us that their kids can’t wait to come back.
Treating children brings our staff so much joy, so we want to personally thank you for sharing them with us. If you are interested in learning more information or you would like to find out if Winning Smile Dental Care is a good fit for your child, give us a call at 847-869-1272.
