How Long Should You Expect Whitening from Our Office to Last?

We pride ourselves on creating long-lasting effects for those who want a bright, white, healthy-looking smile. As members of the General Dental Council, we provide a safe and effective whitening process for our patients. On average, our whitening procedure yields effects for about three years! However, everyone is different; every patient will have a distinct experience with whitening.
Can Everyone Whiten Teeth?
Patients with yellowish teeth will respond best to our procedure, while brownish, or grayish teeth, and teeth with significant purple-colored staining, may be more difficult to lighten. However, there are whitening options for everyone and coming to our office to discuss your options with our dentists is the first step to a bright, beautiful smile.
How Can I Get the Most Out of Whitening?
Up to 48 hours after the procedure, the surface of the teeth remains vulnerable to staining. It's important to stay away from anything that may stain the teeth during this period. After this period, it is important to continue to follow the advice given by our dentists.
The effectiveness of our whitening will depend on your lifestyle, and oral hygiene regimen. Eating and drinking foods prone to staining teeth (tea, coffee, dark-colored wine), and smoking cigarettes, will have an effect on the longevity of our whitening procedure. While staying away from these substances is best for your teeth, we understand that everyone's lifestyle is different. Rinsing your mouth and/or brushing your teeth immediately after consuming tooth-staining substances will help maintain your bright smile.
In addition to your biannual visits, you may want to come in for touch-ups or consultations. We can recommend the best toothpastes, mouthwashes, and oral hygiene regimen to keep your smile as white as possible, for as long as possible.
